Issue Hair Brush

1BPI-1. Oval wood hairbrush with stiff bristles, about 5-inch long x 2-5/8-inch wide, one edge of the wood is impressed with black lettering, "Briton Brush Coy. Ltd. 1944," and is stamped with a British broad arrow mark; the opposite edge is marked, "Warranted Bristle, Whalebone & Fibre. C.C. 0043."  An excellent item for a British soldier's personal item display. Minor age from storage. Unused. Excellent. $15.00 

Jungle Sewing Kit, (Housewife)

1BPI-2. Approx. 5-3/4-inch wide x 4-inch high olive green waterproof material pouch containing, 1). Roll of olive green wool yarn. 2). 50-yards of 2-cord olive green linen thread wound on a cardboard spool with maker markings. 3). 8-3/4in x 4-1/2in swatch of fine olive green poplin material. 4).  Six large silver metal safety pins with paper tag marked, “Tulip Safety Pins Rustless Made In England.” 5). Large metal thimble. 6). Six black, rubber like, composition buttons marked “Diamite,” This type of button was used on  many items of WW2 British jungle clothing. 7). Paper package containing five sewing needles, label marked, “Jas. Smith & son’s Best Quality Needles for Housewives, Containing One Darning Needle No.1, Two Sewing Needles No. 2, Two Sewing Needles No. 3; paper container marked, "Made in England,” broad arrow marked and dated 1943. These Jungle sewing kits have just about completely disappeared . Unused. Excellent+.  $24.00 SOLD

Brown Bakelite Three Piece Razor In Original Box – 1944

1BPI-3. Razor marked, “Made In England.” The disassembled razor fits in its original box. Box has nice period graphics, is maker marked and dated 1944. Not “Broad Arrow” marked, however, the unit is either a British “PX” item or a commercial item bought up by the British government intended for military use. We have sold hundreds of these boxed razors, to reenactors and collectors, in the past. Unfortunately, only a small quantity remains. Unused. Excellent.  $10.00 SOLD

British Admiralty Shell Dressing  (Battle Dressing)
battldresslarge.JPG (51868 bytes) 1BPI-4. A large shell dressing sealed in a 6-inch wide x 4-inch high, light brown colored linen pouch. The front of the pouch is printed, “Admiralty, Shell Dressing, To Open Outer cover – Pull Tapes Apart. To Open – Inner Waterproof cover – Tear Apart At The Corner indicated By Arrow. Directions for Use – Take the folded ends of bandage in each hand, and keeping bandage taut, apply surface of pad to wound and fix bandage with safety pin. In the case of head wounds, when respirators have to be worn, care should be taken to adjust the pas so that it does not interfere with the fit of the face piece. Do Not Handle Wound Or Pad. Vernon & Co.  LTD., Preston, August 1943.” This is the standard large WW2 British military first aid dressing carried, in the special, “Battle Dressing,” pocket, on the front of the WW2 British Battle Dress trouser and in the battle dressing pack. Unused. The linen cover has picked up minor brown spots during storage, (nothing serious),otherwise, in excellent condition. $7.00
British First Field Dressing (Battle Dressing)
battledresmall.JPG (59930 bytes) 1BPI-5. Two small first aid dressings sealed in a 3-1/2-inch wide x 4-1/4-inch high, tan-colored linen pouch. The front of pouch is printed, “First Field Dressing, To Open Outer cover – Break thread holding flap. To Open – Inner Waterproof cover – Tear Apart At The Corner indicated By Arrow. Contents: Two dressings in waterproof covers, each consisting of a gauze pad stitched to a bandage, and a safety pin. Directions for Use – Take the folded ends of the bandage in each hand, and keeping bandage taut, apply the gauze pad to the wound and fix bandage. One dressing to be used for each wound. In the case of head wounds, when respirators have to be worn, care should be taken to adjust the pad so that it does not interfere with the fit of the face piece. Do Not Handle The Gauze Or Wound. Johnson & Johnson Pty. Ltd, Sidney September 1942.” This is the standard small WW2 British military first aid dressing carried, in the special, “Battle Dressing,” pocket, on the front of the WW2 British battle dress trouser and in the battle dressing pack.
