Auxiliary Security Police Arm Badge of the SHUMA, (Polizei-hilfskrafte und Schutzmannschaften Ordengspolizei), Police Auxiliary Units & Protection Groups, Which Were Considered To Be Part Of The SS - Black Variation
ShumaArmBlk.JPG (76130 bytes) 7GC-99. An oval arm badge bearing a central swastika, surrounded by the embroidered motto, “ Treu Tapfer Gehorsam,” (faithful courageous and obedient), within a wreath. The design is embroidered using flat silver wire on a black background with gray/green rayon backing material. The arm badge was worn by personnel, while in the service of the Auxiliary Security Police. Because the Germans advanced very rapidly into Russia, they left behind vast areas that required clearing of stragglers of the Soviet Army, anti-Nazis, as well as other “undesirables;” in the civil population. These action groups,” were recruited from ethnic Germans but also included local pro-Germans, as well as reliable captured Soviet Militia. These action groups rounded up Soviet Army stragglers, acted as interpreters, guards and dealt with the civil population restoring order so that civil government could be restored in occupied Russian areas and ultimately became fully involved in anti-partisan operations. This example has been cut from a roll and is in unused condition exhibiting very slight signs of age from handling and storage. An impressive looking insignia. Excellent. $160.00 SOLD
NSKK Drivers Sleeve Diamond – 2nd Pattern
NSKKsleeveDia1var.JPG (52990 bytes) 7GC-100. 2-inch wide x 2-3/4-inch high NSKK, 2nd pattern, black silk sleeve diamond with machine woven aluminum wire design depicting the 2nd pattern NSKK German eagle & swastika, which is superimposed on a 1-1/4-inch diameter, thin, wheel with six spokes. This insignia was worn on the lower left sleeve by all members of the NSKK, (Nationalsozialistischen Kraftfahr Korps). At the outbreak of WW2 the insignia was worn only by officers and men who held a vehicle operators license. This specimen exhibits light age, no significant wear and just the slightest bit of soil from handling. The silver thread has darkened a bit from age and use; a few of the silver threads have pulled away from the design, which is a natural occurrence when this type of embroidered insignia is actually used, (nothing serious). The insignia has thick internal padding, which gives it depth and dimension; the padding is secured by fine machine stitching along each edge of the diamond. The backside has remnants of a paper RZM tag. Nice. Does not appear to have been used. Near excellent. $42.00 SOLD

The nap of the white wool underlay, on the backside, is heavily aged, worn and exhibits heavy moth tracking; there is one actual moth hole on one edge of the white piping. The button and sew-on nut are excellent.
