| Early Stahlhelm
Members Buckle Type II, Circa 1929-1933 |
` |
1GU-1. One piece, stamped steel, smooth finish, Stahlhelm
Organization members buckle depicting the national eagle wearing an
Imperial German crown with the “W” monogram of Wilhelm II stamped
throughout the wings and on the eagles chest, as well as the steel helmet
that was worn in the trenches during the 1914-1918 War; the specific
features of the design portray the summarizes the origins and goals of the
Stahlhelm Organization. The front of the buckle retains 97%, or more, of
its, original, smooth greenish/gray paint, (an unusual color), which
exhibits minor surface scratches, minor worn areas, as well as dusty soil
residing in the crevices and recesses of the stamped design. The backside
retains, maybe 20% of its original greenish/gray paint, which is heavily
aged and has large areas of red surface rust. The belt catch on this
buckle is the early, welded, “D” type belt catch. The backside of the
buckle would rate about Good-; the front is in Vg+ condition. A
particularly nice example of a VERY RARE buckle that seldom materializes. These
buckles are not normally maker marked. The color in the image is quite a
bit off from what it actually looks like; the image does not do the buckle
justice. $350.00

| Infantry Enlisted
Mans Parade Dress Tunic, (Waffenrock), Who Was Assigned To The
Recruiting Office Of Wehrkreis IX , (Army District 9). Infantry
Waffenfarbe, (white) - With Official U.S. Army Capture Paper |
 |
1GU-SLC2. Tightly
woven, greenish/gray wool material; eight silver pebbled, hollow back,
aluminum buttons down the front; the backside of each button is marked,
“Motz;” the tunic has bluish/dark green wool collar and cuffs with
white wool piping around the collar, down the front, along the back vent
opening and at each cuff. The cuffs have two, silver pebbled, buttons
attached to a white wool cuff tab, which has separately applied silver
brocade litzen. The scalloped rear vent has two silver pebbled buttons, as
well as a silver pebbled button, belt holder, on each side. The shoulders
display gray/green wool, white piped, sew in shoulder boards, each board
has a, gothic style, chain stitched white thread “W, ” as well as the
Roman numeral IX, which represents Recruiter offices in the Army district
9.” The undersides of the shoulder boards are constructed of gray/green
wool and they are directly sewn into the shoulder seam at the time of
manufacture and each board has a silver pebbled, hollow back, aluminum
button, which is embossed with the number “7,” (indicating 7th
company). The collar has white wool collar tabs with separately applied
silver litzen. The right breast has a, flat, silver wire breast eagle
embroidered on a light gray background, which is machine sewn onto a
gray/green wool backing; the breast eagle is hand sewn onto the tunic,
(normal); the left sleeve has an Obergefreiter, with less than six years,
chevron, (1936 pattern with two separately sewn silver V’s); the chevron
is on a bluish/dark green wool backing and is slightly amateurishly
applied, probably by the soldier himself. The inside of the tunic is lined
with grayish/brown rayon; the sleeves are lined with light and dark, gray
striped, (ticking), material. There is one interior pocket on the left
breast, as well as two, standard, hidden, pockets at the lower back vent
area. The lining is strongly stamped, “Ligo Hanover,” and has standard
size markings stamped inside the left breast. The lining and sleeves are
in excellent condition; they exhibit very light signs of age, minor wear
and insignificant soil form very light use. The tunic has double hooks and
eyes at the front of the stand-up collar; the metal devices to hold a,
separate, white, collar lining have been removed, (the original thread is
still present); they were replaced by three polished horn buttons, (white
liner not present). All of the tunic buttons match and do not appear to
have been moved or replaced; Overall the tunic and its insignia are in
near excellent condition; there are, overall, minor and very light signs
of wear and age where you would expect to find it; the nap on the collar
is worn and lightly soiled from rubbing on the neck and there is light and
insignificant dust from storage. There are several small spots of very
light moth tracking, (no actual moth holes), these several spots are
spread about the tunic and are not noticeable at a casual glance. The
official U.S. Army capture paper was found, folded, in one of the pockets
when we purchased this uniform; it’s signed by a 1st lt., of
Co.E, 109th Infantry Regiment, (28th Inf Div), and
dated 29 June 45; it has the GI’s name and specifically describes a
“German dress blouse.” The paper is somewhat delicate; it’s
wrinkled, has folds, a few small holes and is torn on the edges. It was
apparently taped to a box or package that held the tunic, as there is
brown tape attached to each end of the certificate. A very nice,
un-tampered with example with official documentation. Very small
size. Overall near excellent. $825.00 SOLD

Mans Pebbled Aluminum Belt Buckle |
 |
1GU-WC4. A heavy pebbled aluminum buckle
with an overall silver pebbled finish, the center of the buckle depicts
a German Army eagle and swastika design; as well as, “Gott Mit Uns”
wording and wreath. This specimen exhibits very light to moderate signs
of age, as well as moderate, (to heavy in some spots), wear to the
center design and the highlights of the buckle; the detail of the head
of the eagle, as well as the feathers on the eagles chest are heavily
worn. The buckle was once had a gray/green painted finish, however, only
remnants of the paint remain in the hollows, recesses and background of
the central design and the pebbling. Approximately 50% of the original
paint remains on the backside, which has an integral aluminum belt hook
catch. The aluminum, on the backside, is polished bright in spots due to
wear from a leather belt. A very sound and worthy, used example. Unmarked. Vg. $80.00

| Woman’s Model
1944, Army Style, Tapered Leg, Field Service, Combat Trousers |
 |
1GU-5. Regulation,
coarse, gray/green wool woman’s field service trouser. The trousers
have a 10-inch long opening on each side, which provides ease in getting
the trousers on and off; each opening is secured by five, polished,
“tortoise shell” buttons, as well as a double, hook-and-eye,
interior, arrangement, which provides for wearing the trousers without a
belt or suspenders. Slash side pocket on each side; no back pockets. The
legs taper to the ankle and have black HBT ties at the cuffs. No age,
wear, soil or mothing; just a mint pair of very scarce trousers. If you
looked at these quickly you would think they were trousers for the
men’s M1944 combat uniform. Approximately 26-1/2-inch waist with a
28-inch inseam. Unfortunately, the image is not very flattering to
the trousers. In the image the trousers appear to be gray, they are
actually gray/green; also, the image shows a yellow stain on the upper
waist area; this is some kind of a reflection; there is actually no
stain or blemish there. Rare. Mint. $225.00 |

Mans Afrikakorps/Tropical Stamped Steel Belt Buckle |
 |
1GU-SC 6. A heavy stamped steel buckle
with a, smooth, dark olive green painted finish associated with buckles
used in the Afrikakorps and other tropical regions. The center of the
buckle depicts a German Army eagle and swastika design; as well as,
“Gott Mit Uns” wording and wreath. This specimen exhibits light
signs of age, as well as light to moderate wear to the center design and
the highlights of the buckle; approximately 85% of the original olive
green paint remains on the front. Approximately 95% of the original
olive green paint remains on the backside; the paint is aged and dusty
from use and storage; this example had the, spot welded, bent metal wire
style belt hook catch. Avery very nice used example with lots of
detail still present. Unmarked. Vg. $95.00 SOLD |

Mans Pebbled Aluminum Belt Buckle – Early 2-Piece Variation With
Separate Center Inset |
 |
1GU-SC7. A lightweight stamped
aluminum buckle with an overall silver pebbled finish bearing a thin,
highly detailed, center inset depicting a German Army eagle and swastika
design; as well as, “Gott Mit Uns” wording and wreath. The inset is
attached to the buckle by means of four, thin, metal tabs that fit into
slots and are folded over on the backside of the buckle. This
manufacturing technique saved money in production costs and offered a
less expensive buckle. This specimen exhibits very light signs of age
and use, it’s in beautiful used condition; the inst is in perfect
condition and not dented as so often occurs with this style buckle;
it’s bright, clean and the center inset is highly detailed showing a,
crisp cut, high relief design. The unmarked backside exhibits light age,
as well as minor signs of actual use; it has the raised, half moon,
style belt hook catch. A beautiful example; the imaged does not do
this buckle justice, it looks dramatically better in person.
Unmarked, as many of them were. Excellent. $120.00

| Army Panzer
Jaeger, (Light Green Piping), High Quality, Custom Made Straight Leg
Trousers – Slate/Gray Officer Quality |
 |
1GU-8.
High quality, fine, slate gray, whipcord wool gabardine, (Tricot),
material with, full, light green piping down each leg. The trouser has
four, dark gray, Bakelite button fly and a blued metal hook and catch at
the waistband; as well as, six, dark gray, Bakelite suspender buttons.
The waistband is high-cut in the back for comfort and has an adjustable
tab, with blued buckle, which is marked “solid.” Straight cut side
pockets on each side; front watch pocket with split ring for watch
chain, single, horizontal cut, back pocket on right side with a single
dark gray Bakelite button closure. The inside of the waistband is lined
with “ticking” like material. The inside of the cuffs are lined in
the back to prevent wear and each side has two, brown composition,
buttons for attaching a strap that goes under the foot to prevent the
trousers from riding out of boots. Are basically in mint condition; they
do not appear to have ever been used, however there is a brown stain
inside the right pocket; something must have been left in the pocket
during the years of storage; the stain does not affect the outside of
the trousers in any way. There is very light and insignificant moth
tracking, throughout the trousers, that is spread out and difficult to
see and does not present a particular problem. There is one, slightly
larger than small, moth hole on the left leg, just below the bottom of
the fly and there is a grouping of moth bites and tracking marks, on the
same leg, slightly lower, (no actual holes in this grouping), sounds
bade but it's not. Waist
about 30-inches with a 32-inch inseam. Officer walking out or parade
dress quality. Unfortunately,
the image is not very flattering to the trousers. In the image the
trousers appear to be blue, they are actually slate/gray; also, the
image shows a square spot on the leg on the right side; this is some
kind of a pixel problem and not actually on the trousers. Except
for the mothing, the trousers are mint. Trousers have always been
difficult to obtain; I don’t think you will be disappointed with this
example. Very Desirable. $295.00

| Army Officers
Dress Belt Buckle |
 |
1GU-SC9. Approximately
2-inch diameter, stamped, silver colored aluminum alloy buckle,
depicting, in very high relief, a German style Army eagle and swastika
design, within an oak leaf wreath; this example has one belt keeper with
the double prong belt adjustment. The backside has the proper two piece
construction, that is, the piece that secures the keeper and belt hook
is a separate piece that is fit into the back of the buckle and crimped
into place. Very minor and insignificant wear to highlights; light age.
An excellent example of German Army Officers buckle.
Unmarked. Excellent. $135.00 SOLD |

Man Leather Belt & Stamped Steel Buckle With Leather Tab Marked, G.
Brehmer, Markneukirchen, 1941 |
 |
1GU-10. Stamped
steel buckle with smooth, dark green painted finish, depicting a German
Army style eagle and swastika with “Gott Mit Uns,” motto, and
wreath. The front of the buckle retains approximately 50%, of its
original dark green paint, which is aged and worn. The highlights and
raised surfaces of the design and lettering are moderate to heavily
worn, however, the eagle’s eye, beak and chest feathers are still
quite prominent. Approximately 75%, or more, of the original matte green
paint remains on the backside of the buckle, which exhibits moderate
signs of age and use, as well as light, dusty, soil, which could easily
be cleaned if you have a desire to do so. Gustav Brehmer’s, “GB,”
logo is only partly visible, (part of the “B” can be seen), on the
front edge of the buckle; most of the logo is worn from contact with the
belt hook. The buckle is uniquely stamped, “41,” (the date), on the
back of the buckle beneath the roller bar. The brown leather tab that is
attached to the buckle, is heavily aged and worn, it has not been oiled
or preserved, it retrains much of its original light brown color, as
well as its original stitching; the tab is lightly stamped with the
makers name and city, “G.Brehmer, Markneukirchen,” however, all of
the letters are not completely legible; the date, “1941” is stamped
in the center of the trademark and is very prominent. The belt is
constructed from thick black leather, which exhibits moderate overall
signs of age and wear; the leather is sound and supple; not dried,
cracked or otherwise damaged and is completely serviceable. One end of
the belt has a stitched loop, which secures a heavy aluminum, combat
style, buckle hook, which is aged, worn and has remnants of gray/green
paint. The brown backside exhibits moderate overall signs of age and
use; the leather adjusting tab is present and exhibits moderate signs of
age and use, as well; the tab is sound and supple; not dried, cracked or
otherwise damaged and is completely serviceable. This belt has been
shortened from its original length and the adjusting tab has been
re-stitched in the appropriate spot for a shorter length belt, (judging
from the age of the work and thread, it seems to be a period
alteration). The belt is approximately 35-1/2-inches long x slightly
less than 1-3/4-inches wide and would fit a 33-inch waist. The belt is
unmarked except for a few initials, which are lightly scratched on the
inside leather. Overall the unit does not appear to have had excessively
hard use and would rate about Vg.
A nice used set. $150.00 SOLD |
