| East German 30 Year Presentation Watch & Medal in Box | |

1EG-1. Red presentation box 9-1/2-inch long x 1-1/4-inch high x 5-inch wide containing a woman’s wristwatch and medallion in recognition of 30-years service in the GDR Ministry of the Interior. The box is covered with textured red paper; the hinged lid is secured by two thin metal latches on front. White material on inside of lid is printed in red lettering, “Fur 30 jahrige Dienstzeit in den Organen des Ministeriums des Innern,” (for 30-years service in the organization of the Ministry of the Interior). Suede-like maroon base houses a gold plated, “Glashutte,” woman’s quartz wristwatch made in GDR. Reverse of watch is stamped with the same wording as on inside lid. The 2-3/8 inch diameter x 1/8-inch thick gold plated medallion exhibits, in high relief, the GDR logo design, oak leaves and the following words, “Fir Den Schutz Der arbeiter Und Baueren Macht,” (for providing protection of the workers and farmers). Reverse of medal is embossed, “ Von der Partei gefuhrt Der Arbeiterklasse true ergeben Mit der Sowjetunion fur immer verbunden,” (from the party and working class faithful to the Soviet Union forever). The watch is unused and exhibits very minor surface tarnish; a new battery must be installed if intended for use. The medallion is in excellent condition except for one moderate nick on the top edge and extremely minor flaking of the gold plate in a few spots on the edge, nothing at all detracting. An impressive looking display. No precious metals. Unused. Near mint condition. $49.00 |

1EG-2. A very nice quality East German Border Guard General’s, gray wool gabardine, whip cord service dress visor hat that has a heavily padded front crown and padded sides with a bright green wool hatband and bright green wool edge piping. The hat has a gold and red colored, metal, NVA insignia and an oak leaf wreath attached to the front. A gold colored nylon chinstrap is secured to the hat by gold colored, pebbled finished, side buttons. The visor is constructed of a hard shiny plastic. A plastic sweat diamond is sewn to the gray twill interior lining; the sweat diamond is stamped, “NVA, (Nationalen Volksarmee), 56, 1856 N, ” and it has a brown plastic, (simulated leather), sweatband. Size 56, which converts to about an American size 7, (small). Unfortunately, the images do not do the hat justice; it’s a very impressive looking hat in perfect unused condition. $120.00 SOLD |
