2USNE-16. Constructed of heavy, olive drab, woven fabric similar to parachute harness material with an appendage to fit wearers chin. The strap has four metal eyelets which attach to the "A" suspension buckle. This chinstrap will only fit Airborne helmets fitted with A" frame and buckle suspension; used from 1944 through the 1980's. The major difference between this example and a WW2 example, is the color. Minor verdigris and white dusty deterioration on the metal eyelets from years of storage. Unused. New. Vg++. $10.00 |

2USNE-17. The PASGT vest protects the upper torso of the body. The ballistic filler consists of 13 plies of water repellent treated Aramid, (Kevlar 29), fabric. The outer cover, (woodland camouflage), and interior lining, (olive green), are constructed of water repellent ballistic nylon cloth. The nomenclature tag sewn on the interior lining reads, “LARGE CHEST: FROM 41 TO 45 IN. STOCK NO. 8470-01-092-8500 NATO SIZE: 7080/0414 BODY ARMOR, FRAGMENTATION PROTECTIVE VEST, GROUND TROOPS SPO 100-95-C-0308 GIBRALTER, P.R., INC.” The vest opens vertically down the front and has a secure Velcro closure The vest has a stand-up collar; flexible shoulder pads as well as, two expandable front pockets, with a large flap covers and Velcro closures. The upper front chest area is reinforced to accept the rifle butt and there are two slots for grenades or other equipment such as flashlight, etc. The sides overlap for full protection and they are connected with wide elastic web material. The PASGT vest is not bulletproof. It does have the ability to stop and/or slow down some fragments from exploding conventional munitions. The PASGT vest provides an excellent fit, taking into consideration the wearers clothing, equipment and body movements. In all cases, the vest must be worn according to instructions. A, “Use and Care,” instruction booklet is contained in the interior pocket of the vest. Unfortunately the picture is not very good and does not do the vest any justice. New, unissued condition.
