NOTE:
In
some cases, because we have small quantities of some of the patches
listed, you may not receive the exact patch that is pictured; however,
you will receive an original WW2 period patch, as good, or in better
condition than the one shown. Of course, variations and those listed
because of their uniqueness will be the actual patch you will receive.

The Angels - No Tab |
 |
1UP-1. 2-1/2-inch wide x
3-inch high, fully embroidered blue patch depicting a winged number
“11” on a red circle. Unfortunately we do not have the proper
WW2 Airborne tab for this patch. The 11th Airborne
was activated in 1943, arrived in New Guinea in May 1944. The 11th
ABN trained for the invasion of the Philippines; their mission was to
disrupt Japanese supply lines and cut Japanese escape routes. The 11th
fought and defeated Japanese Paratroopers dropped on the San Pablo
airstrip; the 11th made amphibious and airborne landings in
their drive toward Manila and was credited as being the first U.S. unit to
land on the Japanese mainland. 204 days of combat in three campaigns.
Unused. Excellent++. $12.00 |

Airborne Division With Separate Airborne Tab |
 |
1UP-1a. 2-1/4-inch wide x 3-3/4-inch high,
fully embroidered blue patch depicting a winged number “11” on a red
circle; the patch is complete with its, separate, blue and white
embroidered “Airborne” tab. This example exhibits moderate to heavy
signs of age and wear and has insignificant signs of soil; the design
show signs of numerous washings and ironings, which has flattened out
the design giving it a thick, fuzzy appearance. A very acceptable
representative example. SCARCE.

Airborne Division - With Green Edge - No Tab |
 |
1UP-2. 2-1/4-inch
wide x 3-inch high fully embroidered blue patch with a light olive
border edge,
depicting a gold embroidered winged Unicorn. Unfortunately we do not
have the proper WW2 Airborne tab for this patch. Activated
in August 1943, sent to the European Theatre of Operations in January of
1945 and assigned to the 1st Allied Airborne Army. The unit
was assigned to take part in Operation Varsity but due to a lack of
aircraft, never made it and was not actually involved in combat as a
unit. In August 1945 the unit returned to the United States to prepare
for duty in the Pacific, however, they were never sent because of the
Japanese surrender. The 13th Airborne Division was
deactivated in February 1946. Unused. Excellent+. $12.00

Airborne Division - With Green Edge And Separate Airborne Tab |
 |
1UP-2a. Approximately
2-1/4-inch wide x 3-3/4inch high heavily embroidered blue patch with a light
olive border edge, depicting a gold embroidered winged Unicorn; same
description as above, except this example comes with its, separate,
black and gold embroidered, "Airborne," tab and has a small nick in the
material
at the top center of the border on the patch, (nothing seriously
detracting, the patch was probably pinned to something at one time). Very nice. SCARCE.

olive border edge, depicting a gold embroidered winged Unicorn; same
description as above, except this example has a small nick in the cloth
at the top center of the border on the patch, (nothing seriously

Airborne Patch With Attached Tab, No Space Between
Tab and Patch, On Khaki Shirt Material |
 |
1UP-2c. 2-inch
wide x 3-1/2-inch high, fully embroidered blue patch depicting a, gold
embroidered, winged Unicorn. The Airborne tab was made integral to the
patch when it was manufactured and it is embroidered directly to the top
edge of the patch. This example exhibits very insignificant signs of age
and wear and only the very slightest hint of soil form handling and
light use. The patch is still attached to a piece of khaki shirt
material, (the material appears to be Army officer type tropical
worsted wool), which completely covers the backside; machine
stitching can be seen along the border edge on the front. A nice
variation. SCARCE. Vg. $49.00

Airborne Division - Thunder From Heaven - Green Edge - No Tab |
 |
1UP-3. 2-1/2-inch
diameter, fully embroidered black patch depicting an eagles talon in
gold thread, within an olive drab border. Unfortunately we do not
have the proper WW2 Airborne tab for this patch. The 17th
Airborne was activated in April 1943. European Theatre of Operation
August 1943 with additional training in England. The Unit was flown to
The Reims area of France with the mission of stopping the German advance
in the southern part of the Bulge. The Unit relieved the 28th
division at Morhet, France and entered the Ardennes campaign at “Dead
Mans Ridge,” advancing for three days, taking over 1,000 casualties
each day. Flamierge,
Luxembourg, Ourthe River and Clervaux. The 17th Airborne
was a major participant in the successful deployment of Operation
Varsity, the landing of Allied Airborne troops behind enemy lines inside
Germany near Wesel, Westphalia. Issel river, Haltern, Munster and on to
the battle of the Ruhr Pocket. Crossing the Rhine-Herne Canal the 17th
captured Essen, Mulheim and Duisberg in the heart of Germanys industrial

Airborne Patch With Attached Tab And OD Space Between Tab and Patch |
 |
1UP-3b. 2-1/4-inch
wide x 3-1/8-inch high, fully embroidered black patch depicting an eagles talon in
gold thread, within an olive drab border. The Airborne
tab was made integral to the patch when it was manufactured. The, rather
large,
space between the patch and the tab is an extension of the same OD cloth
that the patch and tab is embroidered on and it has the appearance of,
"HBT " (Herringbone Twill), cloth. This example is in
excellent overall unused condition, except for a frayed area, on the
border edge, near the left claw, which so often appears on some, WW2,
cut edge patches, (nothing seriously detracting). An interesting
variation. SCARCE.
