Service Command Pointed Star Version - Felt Variation |

8UP-93. 2-1/2-inch diameter black wool felt
patch depicting a heavily embroidered, seven point silver/white star with
a black star in the center. This variation was worn during WW2; some
authorities suggest that this Special Purchase, variation was
designed for officers; however, there is no official proof that this is
the case. It is, nevertheless, a known and sought after variation of the 7th
Service Command patch. The 7th Service Command had its
headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska and was responsible for Colorado, Iowa,
Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota and
Wyoming. This specimen is a particularly beautiful, high quality
patch exhibiting excellent detail. A scarce variation.

embroidered blue patch depicting an embroidered seven point star
with a blue seven point star in the center. The 7th Service

2-3/4-inch wide x 3-inch high yellow gold embroidered patch
depicting the red embroidered design of the Moro Castile in San Juan,
Puerto Rico. The unit was established in July 1939 with headquarters in
Puerto Rico, (first called the Puerto Rican Department), with a mission of
protecting Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands against enemy attack, as
well as, protecting from within against enemy sympathizers. In 1941 the
Puerto Rican Department was redesignated as the Antilles Department.

blue waves on a white background with red border. The unit was activated
in 1941and Headquartered at Narsarssuak, Greenland, by agreement between
the U.S. and Danish government. This added an important stop-over location
or starting point, for U.S. planes heading to England, as well as an
important weather gathering station. This example exhibits light age, as

blue star on white background with red trim and has an olive drab border. The Army
Service Forces commanded administrative and technical forces as well as,
many ports of embarkation and supply depots, smoothly administrating the
logistics of providing food, clothing and housing for millions of
personnel in the military. The patch exhibits very insignificant signs of
age from light handling; it is in excellent condition and depicts a
distinct, unique, circular style embroidery. A beauty.

existence and trained 1,300,000 soldiers in the traditional service
branches, support units, as well as technical and administrative services.
Throughout the WW2 years the Army Service Forces Training Center Units,
trained over 6,000 different military organizations. An interesting

Amphibian Units British Combined Operations Style Patch - Blue
Variation With Golden Yellow Embroidered Design |

8UP-98. 2-7/8-inch
wide x 3-1/4-inch high, fully embroidered "BLUE"
patch with heavy golden yellow thread embroidery depicting a
Thompson machine gun and anchor design, surmounted by a flying eagle. The
design is actually a representation of the WW2 British Combined Operations
patch, which was worn by British Commandos and Landing Craft personnel.
The
Amphibian Units were activated in June 1942 they were located
at Camp Edwards, Massachusetts and consisted of four Brigades. The units
were assigned the responsibility of transporting combat units to enemy
shores in various types of landing craft, transporting and unloading
supplies for combat units at the beachhead level, controlling the movement
of supplies on the beachhead, as well as, moving supplies inland to supply
dumps, and removing wounded and prisoners of war from the beachhead area.
Shore elements of the unit included Engineer, Ordnance, Medical, Signal,
and Quartermaster Troops. The 1st Engineer Amphibian brigade
made landings in North Africa, Italy and Normandy on D-Day and then moved
to the Pacific Theater and made assault landings on Okinawa. The 2nd
brigade participated in many assault landings in the Pacific Theatre of
Operations and provided fire support from support landing craft vessels.
The 3rd Brigade landed General MacArthur on Leyte in April
1944. The 4th Brigade operated a command post at Oro Bay, New
Guinea and participated in two combat assaults in the Pacific Theatre of

with heavy golden yellow thread embroidery depicting a

The U.S. Navy Amphibian Units developed and operated a large number of
different vessels, which were adapted for ship to shore and amphibious
warfare, such as large ocean-going vessels like the 325 foot Landing Ship
Tank (LST), as well as the Landing Ship Dock, (LSD); the Landing Ship
Vehicle, (LSV); etc. They also trained Scouts, Raiders, Beach Jumpers,
Combat Demolition Teams, Joint Assault Signals Units, Beach Battalions and
Amphibious Medical Units in both the European and Pacific Theatre of
Operations. The red variation is the most difficult version to
acquire; we do not often acquire this patch. A beautiful example. Unused,

a light color olive drab border depicting red, gold, and blue colors
suggesting the colors of a rainbow. European Theatre of Operation,
arriving in Marseilles France in December 1944. Entered combat on
Christmas Eve 1944 near Strasbourg and relieved or replaced combat units
where necessary. Ardennes, Bulge Area, Haguenau, Hardt Mountains,
Siegfried Line, Dahn, Busenburg, Rhine River Crossing, Wertheim, Wurzburg,
Schweinfurt, Furth, Donauworth to Dachau and liberated the infamous
concentration camp located there; then onto Munich and Austria where they
remained for occupation duty until 1946. 106 days in combat, two
campaigns, with a loss of over 3900 men. Unused. Excellent. $8.00 SOLD

Excellent detail and design; light, vertical line variation embroidery.
Activated in October 1942; the Division embarked for the European Theatre
of Operation, arriving in North Africa for additional training; elements
of the 92nd organized as the 370th Regimental Combat
Team and were attached to the 1st Armor Division; the 92nd
Division entered combat in Italy, crossed the Arno River and occupied
Lucca. Northern Italy, The Ligurian Coast, Serchio Valley, Castelnuovo,
Fiume La-Force Line, Serchio Sector, Gothic Line, Genoa, as well as a
period of occupation. The 92nd fought in two campaigns, loosing
nearly 3,000 men. Traditionally a Black unit. A

Approximately 2-1/2-inch wide x 2-inch high fully
embroidered patch depicting two red triangles forming the Roman numeral
X. Activated in June of 1944, Headquartered at Schofield Barracks
Hawaii with the mission of preparation for the invasion of Formosa. A
change of orders set the unit to the Ryukyus Islands. On April 1, 1945 the
combined Army and Marine forces of the 10th Army made landing
assaults on Okinawa, capturing airfields and engaging the Japanese
defensive positions situated in caves and difficult terrain. This very
difficult campaign, resulting in the capture of Okinawa, cost the 10th
Army over 7,600 men killed and an unprecedented 31,000 wounded. Unused.
