| 10-pc, Individually
Boxed, WW2 #104 AC Spark Plugs, In Original Box, Sealed In Original WW2
Military Waxed Fabric |
 |
1UE-2.A
very interesting find! WW2 military, #104, AC spark plugs in their
original master box of ten plugs. Each spark plug has been,
individually, hand sealed and persevered, in standard WW2 military
fashion, using a wax impregnated fabric, then further protected, with a
thick exterior layer of olive green wax-like material and placed in its
individual box, where they have remained for the past 62 years, or so,
and with the ww2 military type sealing process, they may last for
another 62 years without concern. The sealed plugs appear to be in
perfect condition; the individual boxes are in about excellent
condition, with very minor and insignificant surface scuffs to the paper
surface; the master box has some lightly bumped corners and some very
minor surface scuffs to the paper surface, as well. The individual boxes
are marked similarly as the master box, which is marked, “AC Spark
Plug Flint Michigan, U.S.A., 10mm Thread, 104, 58” Hex., 17-P-5335,
(which is the federal stock #); A-311992,” as well as other
informational markings. The U.S. patent numbers, listed on the box, are
in the approximate issue range of 1927 to 1944. I have no idea what the
spark plugs fit, however, they are definitely of a military nature and
did come with a quantity of White halftrack parts we obtained many years
ago. Box of Ten sparkplugs. Unused. Excellent. $35.00 |

Caliber Water Cooled Machinegun Steam Condensing Hose In Steam
Condensing Hose Carrying Pouch |
 |
1UE-3. M1917
.30 caliber, water-cooled machinegun, steam condensing hose with quick
disconnect fitting. A heavy-duty, black rubber hose, which is designed
to carry condensing steam back to the machinegun condensing can. The
device is constructed from an approximately 6-foot long, thick, “triple
wall,” black rubber hose. The thick internal hose is covered with
a woven, “hemp-like,” covering; the woven cover has a thin,
black rubber, exterior covering. One end of the hose is fitted with a
double spring, quick-disconnect, device. The hose exhibits moderate
signs of storage age and storage soil; it’s not dried, cracked or
damaged, except for a 1-inch section of the outside covering that is
missing where it is clamped to the quick release device. The quick
release device exhibits moderate to heavy signs of age, use and soil;
the leaf springs are somewhat weak, one more than the other; the brass
area of the device is stamped, “Made In U.S.A.” and has a company
logo design of the letter “S” within an oval. The very light olive,
(khaki), woven web carrying pouch is approximately 10-1/2-inch wide x
11-inch high and has a large, scalloped closing flap with blackened
brass buckle and strap closure; the blackened hardware is of WW1 U.S.
design and the scalloped edge of the flap is trimmed with slightly
lighter colored olive, (khaki), cotton trim. The front of the pouch is
marked with large, early type, black stenciling, “Steam Condensing
Device Case C39762.” The inside of the case is lightly stamped, “R.I.A.”
(Rock Island Arsenal). The backside has remnants of the original brown
leather strap, which has been cut off and replaces with a white cotton
shoulder strap, (most likely a post-war application to make the pouch
more commercially appealing.) The exterior of the pouch exhibits very
light signs of age and wear, as well as moderate, (heavy in some spots),
signs of soil from handling, and use. The interior is clean with very
light and insignificant soil from storage of the hose. A very
interesting machinegun accessory. Used. Vg. $65.00 SOLD

| Aluminum Canteen
With Flat top Cap – U.S. A.G.M. Co. 1942 |
 |
1UE-5.
Aluminum canteen stamped, “U.S. A.G.M. Co. 1942, ” with
screw-on black, Bakelite cap with flat top and serrated edge; complete
with original chain; no cork washer. The canteen is in excellent
condition; it retains most of its original matte silver/gray finish,
showing minor signs of surface scuffs and light scratches from handling,
no dents. The chain has minor sign of rust and the cap shows light age.
The original owner, lightly, scratched his initials on the front, back
and on the top of the cap; they are mostly quite light and are not
evident at first glance. The bottom of the canteen has some aluminum
slag on the bottom and it came from the factory that way. Some minor
signs of age on the inside of the canteen. The dark spots you see in the
image are actually bright spots, where the surface finish is worn from
the back of the snaps on the canteen cover. The flat top cap
variation is only seen on early dated canteens and is of particular
interest to collectors; this one is a really nice example. SCARCE.
Excellent. $24.00 SOLD |

| Anti-Flak Goggle
/ Facemask |
 |
1UE-9. Primarily issued to armored vehicle
personnel but had some Army Air Force use, as well. Constructed of
1/16-inch thick steel that’s painted dark, matte, olive drab and has six
thin, horizontal, slits to provide vision; the slits are narrow enough to
provide some protection from flak splinters. This example has retained
approximately 98% of its original paint, on the front, with one moderate
area of wear to the painted surface on the slits on the right side, as
well as, moderate areas of surface rust showing on the bottom edge, below
each eye, (the rust is not too bad looking).
The backside retains approximately 99% of its original paint; it
has a thick, off-white, corduroy pad at the forehead and nose &
cheekbone area; the pads are stitched onto the goggle through several
small holes, in the steel, for that purpose; the pads have acquired
moderate signs of soil form handling and storage. There is a simple black
stretch material headband with a thin hook and D-ring attachment, sewn
onto each side of the goggle. A SCARCE piece of equipment that does not often turn
up. Vg. $225.00

While
Foraging In Our Warehouse We Uncovered Two Unopened Crates Containing
40-Pieces Of U.S. G.I. Pick Mattocks Made By Diamond Calk Company, Dated
1944 |
 |
1UE-10. Drop
forged steel head, which is 14-1/4-inches long, from its 2-1/2-inch wide
chisel blade, to its pointed pick. The blade is embossed, “U.S. Diamond
Calk Co. 1944;” (the markings are not entirely legible, which is a
normal occurrence for this particular item). The tool retains its original
WW2 OD painted finish, just as it came from the factory. The factory has
put a very thin coat of paint on the heads giving them a lightly painted,
watery, appearance, (all of the Diamond Calk Co. Pick Mattocks, that we
handled in the past, had the same lightly painted finish). The 17-inch
long tapered oak handle retains its factory OD painted finish and is
stamped. “U.S.,” on one side, near the wide end. The handle can be
attached to the pick by sliding it through the opening in the steel head
and taping the wide end, firmly, on a hard surface. Tapping the bottom,
(narrow), end of the handle will dislodge the head from the handle. The
metal heads retain much of their original factory painted finish, which
exhibits paint flaking, surface scuffs, scratches and nicks, as well as, some
surface rust consistent with 60-years of storage, (nothing serious). The
oak handles also retain approximately most of their original factory
painted finish, which exhibits scuffs, scratches, nicks and wear
from rubbing against the metal heads, and/or other handles during storage;
there may be light to moderate chips, and or nicks, in the wood but
nothing of a serious nature. Basically
the unit is in, Vg+ unused condition; I don’t think you’ll
be disappointed. We will send out the best condition and clearest markings
first. $35.00 each
