| Culture Tobacco Box - Empty |
 |
3UPI-32. 4-1/4-inch
high x 3-inch wide x 3/4-inch deep “Culture” tobacco box. The box
was produced from
cardboard during WW2 when metal was scarce; the company used the same
design that was on the 1930’s “Culture” tobacco tin. Nearly every
WW2 GI used tobacco in some form; they rolled their own, chewed, even
those who didn't smoke used tobacco for trade and barter with other GI's
and local civilians. Some loose tobacco or a few cigarettes could get
you some fresh eggs, butter or milk, which was scarce on the front;
tobacco was great for obtaining some good war souvenirs as well. Front and
back of box printed, “Culture Crush Cut Smoking Tobacco Super Quality,
Scotten Dillon Company, Detroit, Mich.” Leftover WW2 stock.
A really great looking period piece for your footlocker or
personal item display. Light age from years of storage. Unused
empty box. Just about excellent. $6.00 |
