Note: The Following "Pocket Guides" were prepared for the express use of American GI’s, of all branches of service, for use while on R & R; TDY; PDS, or simply when  passing through Asia, the Pacific and other areas or countries during the Vietnam War period. The Army encouraged soldiers to take advantage of the great opportunity to experience food, drink customs and the culture of the various countries they visited or were assigned to. The "Pocket Guide" provides a guide for the conduct of the American soldier, as well as, a brief history of the country, its type of government, an over view of the people, their religious beliefs and way of life, food, transportation, sightseeing, money, a limited language guide that provides words and phrases helpful in daily activities, as well as, numerous other necessary and interesting information.

Lightly textured paper covers with colorful 1960's style graphics on front and backside. 78 pages of text, many black & white photos, some illustrations, as well as, a very basic map. A very nice item for a GI’s personal item collection or a Vietnam War footlocker display. Minor signs of exterior age from handling and storage, the interior pages are excellent. A Pocket Guide To Taiwan With Full Color Plates Illustrating Chinese Uniform Insignia - Dated 1965

Paper chip on upper right corner on the backside, as well as, a 1/2-inch tear on the bottom right corner of the backside. A very nice item for a GI’s personal item collection or a Vietnam War footlocker display. There is a ballpoint pen ink line located on the top center of the back cover, which can be clearly seen in the image, (not too bad looking). A Pocket Guide To The Philippines With Full Color Plates Illustrating Philippine Uniform Insignia - Dated 1961

This example has three, full-color, plates, on the inside and back covers, illustrating basic Japanese Army, Navy and Air Force uniforms and insignia. A very nice item for a GI’s personal item collection or a Vietnam War footlocker display. There is a small paper chip on the upper left corner of the front cover. There are light ballpoint pen ink lines on the front cover, which sort of blend in with the design, as well as, light to moderate ink lines in the center of the back cover, which can be clearly seen in the image, (not too bad looking). Minor signs of exterior age from handling and storage, the interior pages are excellent. Overall Near excellent. $6.00 SOLD

Vietnam War Ration Card Named To A U.S. Enlisted Man In the 334th Aviation Company – Dated 68-69

1VP-2. 2-3/4-inch wide x 2-1/2-inch high, fold-up, paper card for an enlisted man in the 334th Aviation Company in the Vietnam War. The card unfolds to 11-inches long; one side has four imprints of the U.S. Military Assistance Command, Vietnam patch, as well as instruction for use of the card. The other side has the man’s name, date of birth, serial number, organization, signature and sates of issue. The card tracks the signatories allotment of beer, wine & liquors, cameras, electronic equipment, typewriters, electric fans, refrigerators, watches and tobacco. Light signs of age and wear, as well as, light and insignificant soil. Near excellent condition. $15.00 SOLD
